Hodgson Portable House Factory

Ernest Hodgson started small with a”Peep-O-Day” poultry houses, but his business grew quickly and he expanded from his original Farm Street location to the center of town by the railroad. From 1905 to 1944, an increasingly wide range of pre-fabricated buildings were assembled in Dover and shipped all over the world. Many can still be found here in town, like those on Meetinghouse Hill Road.
